Jeannette Bautista is a mental health counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate painful life experiences, identity exploration, and emotional overwhelm with greater self-understanding, compassion, and resilience. She brings a deeply affirming, trauma-informed approach to her clinical work.
At the core of Jeannette’s therapeutic philosophy is the belief that unprocessed pain does not simply disappear, but often resurfaces through patterns of disconnection, shame, emotional distress, and difficulty navigating daily life. Through a collaborative and restorative therapeutic relationship, she helps clients explore and challenge the internalized beliefs, survival responses, and emotional wounds that may be keeping them stuck.
Jeannette creates a safe, expansive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel empowered to reconnect with themselves and move toward healing at their own pace. Her approach is rooted in person-centered therapy and grounded in the belief that each individual already possesses innate wisdom and strength. She integrates mindfulness practices, somatic healing techniques, and trauma-informed care to support clients in developing deeper emotional awareness, nervous system regulation, and sustainable growth.
Jeannette approaches therapy with warmth, authenticity, and cultural humility, honoring the unique lived experiences each client brings into the therapeutic space.
Jeannette is a Dominican-American and Queens native. She earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences in Black Studies from the State University of New York at New Paltz and her Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College, Columbia University.
She believes that understanding yourself — and learning to honor what you discover — is lifelong work, and she would be honored to support you on that journey.
